My iambic poem

Write a poem in four lines about Romanticism. You must write in iambs.

  1. Romanticism sucks
    The goal is often shocks
    We have to read iambs
    Like slaughtered little lambs

The sneering duck from Chestnut Square.
    It prowls upon its prey
The breadcrumbs spread around its lair
    Soon they will be away

    The teacher teaches nothing new
My interest is so far away
    She teaches like a Pikachu
    Spontaneously my mind doth stray

  4. Romanticism is a b*** to learn
But teaching it is even harder still
The L-class get the grades they work to earn
Unless good bribes their teacher's pockets fill

  5. The poet Wordsworth in his grave
Will toss and turn and damn
I work so hard your butts to save
    "I don't just teach; I-amb"

  6. Romanticism is a bitch
that I don’t want to know
I have to write a poem which
    has iambs and a flow.

I think romanticism sucks, I do

  8. The song of bright colourful life
My love, hath man forgotten thee
Now sliced by the rational knife
I beg, please spare the tree

    1. Beautiful! And as a true poet, you break the rhythm in certain places - where? ;) Perhaps others would care to comment?

    The Romanticism period
    when poets wrote their minds
    they spend some overwhealming lines
    we fight in our time.

    1. Another poetic genius who plays around with the iambic metre... Do you see it? ;)
